FRPN Resources Available for Federal Responsible Fatherhood Grant Applications

Applications for the Office of Family Assistance Fatherhood Family-focused, Interconnected, Resilient, and Essential Grants (Fatherhood FIRE) are due July 1, 2020. Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit a proposal to implement one specific program model designed to serve one specific group of fathers. If your organization is considering applying for this funding, the FRPN has numerous resources available on our website that may be helpful in developing your approach.

Do Responsible Fatherhood Programs Work? A Comprehensive Meta-analytic Study

The FRPN has also published numerous new and original measures of fathers' involvement with children and coparenting for low-income, nonresident fathers. The measures are available at no cost and are being used in several studies. Several of the measures are also available in Spanish. These brief, easy-to-administer measures have been validated with low-income, nonresidential fathers attending fatherhood programs.

COVID-19 and Child Support: Changes in Payers and Non-Payers and What Child Support Agencies Can Do

The world is facing an unprecedented time as the impact of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) unfolds. To help child support agencies better serve the new needs of their clients due to plummeting unemployment and other economic consequences from the COVID-19 crisis, the Center for Policy Research, led by FRPN Co-Director Dr. Jessica Pearson, has developed a series of issue briefs.

The first brief, authored by Dr. Jane Venohr, provides insight on changes in payers and non-payers due to COVID-19-related employment changes and the federal response to alleviate the negative impact on household income. This first brief also suggests actions child support agencies can take to respond to these new needs.
